An Xavier and Rex football story from Adventure Valley.

Xavier placed the ball on the grass.

He wanted it to go exactly where he meant it to.

Xavier kicked as hard as he could.

The ball flew much further than he meant to.

Rex ran after it.

“Put your standing foot beside the ball,” said Rex.

Xavier looked down and listened.

Xavier set his foot beside the ball.

He breathed in. He chose a corner.

This time, the ball rolled low and true.

Again. Better. Again.

Rex waited in goal, ready to make a save.

Xavier knew where he wanted the ball to go.

“Good save!” said Xavier.

“Good kick!” said Rex.

They cheered for each other.

Xavier carried the ball home.

Every little try had helped.
